Studies done of folks from my community both past and present. Everpresent is something that holds so much weight with me. In the context of erasure and our stories being minimized, I see our stories as intertwined with this country as the tiles on the wall. Almost to hide in plain sight. Inspired by Imani Perry’s book, Black in Blues, where she documents black folk’s relationship to the color blue through time immemorial.
