Black Is
Black Is Magazine is a Baltimore-based contemporary photography platform dedicated to publishing the stories and work of Black image-makers from around the world. Founded on the belief that one experience does not speak for all, Black Is creates space for the full range of voices, perspectives, and visual languages emerging from Black communities across the African diaspora. The platform operates as both an editorial publication and an archival resource, maintaining an ongoing database of Black image-makers whose work reflects the breadth and complexity of Black life and ideas. Through interviews, critical writing, community programming, and exhibitions, Black Is centers photography as a site of record, reflection, and cultural production. At Scout Art Fair, Black Is presents the work of Alaina Lurry, Dahveed Wilkins, and Reginald Ransom III, three photographers whose practices speak to the personal, political, and visual dimensions of Black life. This presentation extends the platform's commitment to building sustained visibility for photographers who are actively shaping the field. Black Is believes that access to photography as both an art form and a discourse belongs to everyone. Its work spans editorial, curatorial, and educational contexts, with the goal of building a durable, community-rooted infrastructure for Black photographic practice.

Heather Grey Gallery
Founded by Michael Haskins Jr. in Baltimore, Maryland, in 2021, Heather Grey a Gallery originated as a platform for identifying and showcasing primarily self-taught artists residing in and around the Baltimore area. While its roots are in Baltimore, Heather Grey’s proposed journey is not limited to self- taught artists, or artists living in Baltimore. With a high appreciation for Juxtaposition the goal is set to bridge a gap, while consciously inviting artists that wouldn’t by nature be in the same room or conversation. Notably, Heather Grey Gallery derived from Baltimore's Currency Studio, owned by Michael Haskins Jr., a designer brand influenced and driven by art and architecture. Haskins is inherently drawn to artists who complement the Currency Studio vision.

SBM Gallery
SBM Gallery represents a community of living artists working in multiple disciplines. The gallery showcases thematic group and solo exhibitions of established and emerging artists who create artwork that address issues of community, justice, and love. The gallery exists to support creativity in the pursuit of liberation for all. Sarah B. McCann Director of SBM Gallery is a Baltimore based curator, community artist, and consultant. Her curatorial methodology poses questions to artists as themes for the exhibitions and often includes youth artists and/or a community component. These exhibitions have been nomadic since 2010 and she often partnered with nonprofit spaces to realize each exhibition. In February 2026 SBM gallery had its inaugural exhibition titled, Before | During | Now that was an investigation of how a global pandemic changed (or didn't) our life, world, and art. Each invited artist will included something they made before the COVID shut down, something they made during lockdown, and something they made after/now. SBM Gallery is located in the Highlandtown Arts and Entertainment District at 422 S. Highland Ave and is open Wednesday–Friday, 12:00–6:00 pm.
