Enough
Jahniah Kum
Water color, Acrylic on mounted mulberry paper
30 x 27 in
"Enough" is a contemplative mixed-media work that explores the tension between presence and absence, painting and collage. The piece begins with a yellow vignette on masonite, inviting the viewer inward, and builds its foundation with layers of translucent
Mulberry paper, which act as both veils and windows into memory. Comprising six paper panels, the work straddles the line between gesso and collage, and between surface and depth. The title, "Enough," poses a question and a plea—how much violence, fatigue, and mourning is enough?
Unlike earlier “The weight of tomorrow” series, negative space here is filled with meaning, weight, and resistance.
