G. Pack
Booth 005G. Pack (Gentry Pack) is a Baltimore-based artist specializing in fine art, film, and design.
“My work is rooted in Afro-Spiritual portraiture, with a focus on capturing the emotional and cultural complexities of everyday life. I draw heavy inspiration from the chiaroscuro techniques of the Baroque period, using light and shadow to create a sense of tension that mirrors the balance between grace and suffering. My goal is to create a visual language that speaks to this duality, shedding light on marginalized narratives and giving visibility to the people and stories that are often overlooked.
My connection to spirituality runs deep. I come from a devoutly religious family with a long lineage of preachers, and that influence shows up in both the themes and energy of my work. Faith, mortality, and the human need for connection are constant threads in my paintings and films. Each piece serves a sanctuary: an invitation for viewers to reflect, question, and feel without shame or judgment.
The intention of my work is to honor where my generation comes from while challenging where we are and where we’re headed. Through this process, I aim to create art that bridges past and present, art that not only documents experience but also helps to shape it."
